Instructions
You are invited to submit ONE abstract describing original research in any of the scientific topics.
All late breaking submissions will be considered for a poster only.
You can mark the “Flash poster presentation” box. Flash poster presentations will be selected from all abstracts with “Flash poster presentation” box marked, excluding abstracts selected by a Scientific Programme Committee for a short talk.
Guidelines and instructions:
In order to submit your abstract, please visit the online Abstract Submission Portal and follow the instructions to submit your abstract.
Please create an account to submit your abstract. Only submissions received from a professional email account will be considered for oral presentations. Abstracts received from a personal Gmail or Yahoo email address will not be considered for oral presentation.
Please ensure that you follow the rules below when submitting your abstract:
- The title of the abstract cannot exceed 20 words.
- The body of the abstract cannot exceed 250 words. The abstract system will not accept abstracts with more than 250 words (body of the abstract). References should not be included.
- Please ensure that you indicate the presenting author on the abstract. If the submitting author is also the presenting author, please mark accordingly. Please note that both the submitting and presenting authors need to be registered and pay the registration fees.
- Standard abbreviations and SI units must be used. Non-standard abbreviations must be defined in full at their first appearance.
- Abstracts must not contain any images or tables.
- The submitting author is fully responsible for the correctness of the abstract. Abstracts will not be edited.
Please note that all abstract presenters are required to register for the congress. Please ensure that they have registered no later than 24 May 2024. If you have not registered by this date your abstract will be rejected.

What happens once I submit my abstract?
- Once the author has selected “submission”, the author will receive an e-mail confirming the successful submission of the abstract. At regular intervals during the submission process, abstracts will be checked by the Scientific Programme Committee and accepted for poster presentations.
- Abstracts submitted for ‘Oral or Poster’ presentation will be reevaluated after the abstract submission deadline and short talks will be selected by the Scientific Programme Committee. Notification of whether your abstract has been accepted for oral presentation will be sent in May 2024.
- Please note: Once your abstract has been accepted by the Scientific Programme Committee, it is subject to payment of the registration fee for the meeting, otherwise your abstract will not be included in the scientific programme, nor in the abstract book. The deadline for payment of the registration fees is 24 May 2024. The ECB2024 Scientific Programme Committee will not allow delegates to present more than one abstract. However, you may be a co-author of more than one abstract.
