Barley - The emerging model for epigenetic research in small grain cereals.
Ales Pecinka is a plant geneticist focusing on the role of chromatin in the establishment of 3D genome architecture, regulation of gene expression, and maintenance of genome stability in barley and Arabidopsis. He was researching at the Leibnitz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research (Germany), Gregor Mendel Institute of Molecular Plant Biology (Austria), and Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research (Germany). Since 2017, he has been a group leader at the Centre of Plant Structural and Functional Genomics of the Institute of Experimental Botany Czech Academy of Sciences (IEB).
