How computer simulations are impacting the future of industrial biocatalysis
Maria Fátima Lucas is Founder and CEO of ZYMVOL, a Barcelona-based deeptech company specialized in enzyme design and development through computer simulations.
Maria holds a PhD in computational chemistry from the University of Porto, Portugal and spent the last 9 years as a researcher at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center.
Because of the breakthrough technologies developed at Zymvol, in 2020 María won the EU Prize for Women Innovators, awarded by the European Commission. In November 2023, Zymvol was distinguished by the Innovation Radar prize also awarded by the European commission.
