Dr. Joaquim Vives, PhD, MRes, is an experienced scientist and group leader at Banc de Sang i Teixits in Barcelona, Spain. With a robust background in Biochemistry and Biotechnology, he excels in translational medicine, navigating regulatory preclinical development for cell-based therapies and tissue engineering. His expertise extends to bioprocess development, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice for producing batches used in early-stage clinical trials. He coordinates the Official Master's Degree in Transfusion Medicine and Cellular and Tissue Therapies, a joint programme of Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Leiden University Medical College.
