Dr. Nuria De Diego Sánchez completed her Ph.D. studies in the physiological responses of pines to drought in 2012 at EHU/UPV, Basque Country, Spain. After graduating, she joined Palacky University, Olomouc, Czech Republic, in 2013 as a junior researcher. Today, she holds dual roles as a Senior Scientist at Palacky University, and as the co-owner and Chief Scientist at AgroBioChem, s.r.o. Dr. De Diego Sánchez has over 50 publications on the Web of Science, more than 1,000 citations, and an h-index of 22. Her research primarily focuses on plant stress responses using non-invasive methods, exploring the role of primary and secondary metabolism in plants across various developmental stages and growth conditions, particularly interested in the GABA and polyamine pathways.
Her contributions to the field have been recognized through multiple accolades, including receiving the Director's Award for Excellence in Scientific Publications from the Haná Region Center for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research of Palacký University on three occasions. Dr. De Diego Sánchez has also played a pivotal role in international collaborations, serving as a co-investigator on the POISE project, jointly funded by Europe and Japan governments (EIG-CONCERT JAPAN) (HORIZON-INFRA-2022-DEV-01), and as a co-Principal Investigator on the PATAFEST project, part of the EU Horizon Europe programme (project number 101084284), focused on research in the field of agricultural crop protection.
